fAces of New Orleans 12 for 12
In May, I will again be traveling to the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, LA, to work with Maquette's M.A.R.D.I G.R.A.S. group. Unlike other trips that I've done with the organization, this time I will also be doing a photojournalism project that will be used to help tell the stories of the residents and community leaders in the Lower 9th Ward. Over the last 10 years, Marquette has made strong connections in this neighborhood, and the project aims to help tell the stories to the people in our own Milwaukee communities who have never had experiences with these inspiring New Orleans figures.

The 12-for-12 project is a personal project for the 2015 year designed to promote adventure, exploration, cultural immersion and photography. The goal is to leave my home state of Wisconsin at least once every month for the entire year. The project is a way for me to push myself creatively and give myself the opportunity to experience other cultures and be exposed to the creative communities in these cities. Although I will return to some of the same locations outside of Wisconsin, my hope is to also make it to Seattle, WA or Los Angeles, CA before year's end! So Far...
